VCUHS - CCH Helipad Connector

M&E helped a valued customer install a new, conditioned space to transfer patients to and from an existing helipad more than 10 stories in the air. The site had to be demobilized for every helicopter that landed with patients, which gave this project a unique risk and scheduling challenge each day. These projects are very fulfilling to be a part of knowing that the finished product gives VCU clients a bit more comfort when they first arrive onsite.

Costar 9th Floor

This project featured flying a roof top piece of equipment more than 100 feet in the air in the dead of night as to not disrupt the busy traffic below. This client brought to life a new high-end call center along with a cutting edge break room and conference area for new hires of the team. M&E renovated existing mechanical and plumbing systems to give this company the competitive advantages that they were looking for in order to attract the future leaders of tomorrow in Richmond, Virginia.

2018

Lidl - Hermitage

Installation of new mechanical and plumbing systems for one of the first of this European grocer’s stores in the Richmond area. This project features exposed, custom spiral ductwork that contours the ceiling to accentuate Lidl’s signature building design. The HVAC system has an exclusive feature that uses the conductive properties of their product coolers to help heat and cool the building.

DCLS CT Lab and Swing

We take pride in providing white glove, highly technical mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations to the highest level of security and conditions in the central Virginia region—and this is just what M&E accomplished at this facility here in Richmond, Virginia. Our Special Projects Group was tasked with installing full MEP systems throughout this working laboratory whilst minimizing downtime for the leading researchers in Virginia. Each of the various projects installed here were under critical deadlines and schedules and M&E met every one of these target goals for the installation.

Owens & Minor Upper Floors

M&E Special Projects Division tackled one of the largest mechanical and plumbing square footage projects to date in the history of our division. Utilizing the sheer speed and volume that our sheet metal fabrication shop provides us, we were able to deliver and install large volumes of ductwork in a very short time-frame in order to meet our customer’s stringent schedule. We pride ourselves on delivering quality products in very short time-span and this project is just another example of how our team comes through delivering what our highly demanding clients expect from us each time.

McKinnon & Harris

This adaptive re-use of an existing vacant warehouse facility give this custom outdoor furniture manufacturer the additional square footage they needed to facility to facilitate their growing business worldwide. M&E worked closely with the design team to bring this project to fruition, assisting in the challenges that arouse installing mechanical and plumbing systems in a building that was built almost 100 years ago.

Bingo Barcade

Who doesn’t enjoy game night? Especially when there is a brewery involved. Our fast-paced competitive advantages came to play on this restaurant/gaming/brewery adaptive re-use in the Scotts Addition area of Richmond, Virginia. This client had a hard deadline to bring this venue to market and utilizing the combined techniques of our tradesmen we had this brewery selling beer on time.

Central Virginia Gynecologic Oncology

We love working with new clients in the central Virginia region. This project featured our first installation with new customer for a client that our major construction division had previously worked with for many years. When our reputation speaks for itself the client sometimes does the selling to our customer. VMFA Robinson House

Our creative preconstruction team here at M&E utilized their value-engineering process to get the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems within the owner’s budget so that this historical renovation could come to life. The challenges we faced on this project to protect and secure the original finishes and structure of this historic building gave our Special Projects Group a high bar to strive and reach for. Each system had to adhere to strict fit and finish whilst preserving the historical integrity of this building. We take pride knowing future generations will get to enjoy its beauty for many centuries to come.

DCLS T17 Laboratory & Fume Hood Renovation

Our mechanical, electrical and plumbing teams worked overnight and many weekends installing and renovating systems whilst working overtop of existing experiment and research areas. If that wasn’t challenging enough, this project had to be finished on time of a drop-dead deadline for a national research team to arrive to begin training—no excuses would be accepted. Our Special Projects Group thrives when the pressure is on and this installation a highly stringent, specific product is a great example of what our combined forces can achieve when we are given the opportunity.

TowneBank Iron Bridge

A new client and customer at the same time sometimes poses new challenges. Fortunately the client and customer here were a pleasure serving. Being a part of bringing new financial opportunities to the people of Southside Richmond is something that brings us great pride and we are proud of this installation.

Anchor Financial Renovation

Kinloch Training Facility

Golf is a hard game. This golf course itself is highly demanding. A hard game and a demanding course require training and that’s just what M&E came to do here: install mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems to make golfers train in comfort. This state-of-the-art training facility will bring the next pros to Virginia and possibly the world and we are proud to have helped their careers get off to the right start.

Linkbelt

Cranes need a little TLC from time to time and our Special Projects Group helped bring the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to life to get these machines back to work. This prefabricated metal building required our teams to be ready quickly to bring these systems online. We know that this equipment sets the stage for most of our projects and it’s here we got to give a little back to some of the hardest working machines in the business.

Peabody School North Wing

Our team at M&E enjoys building comfortable learning spaces for the future generations of Virginians to come in Charlottesville. At this private institution for children, our team installed all new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems along with an in-house designed HVAC controls system to bring the install fully under control. This facility will be used for students for many years to come and was a joy to work with a long-time, good customer of ours.

UPG Riverside

Car enthusiasts unite! This one-of-a-kind projects exists for those with a need for speed and is a place where race junkies can get their fix.
